Project: Self Initiated the design and build of a Monastery school in the Himalayas in response to the earthquake of 2015. The design focused on earthquake resistance using locally sourced environmentally sustainable resources as well as locally available skills.

 

Position: Principal Architect.

 

Responsibility:

1. Project and Office Management: • Meeting with client • Discussions with clients of the brief & the preliminary drawings • Formulation of client requirements • Project formulation • Drafting of correspondence • Co-ordination of the work of consultants • Fundraising • Master site planning of future buildings. • Coordinating site clearance & demolition of existing work

2. Design and Design Documentation: • Site investigation & evaluation • Meeting with relevant authorities • Assess & implementation of relevant regulations • Preparation of schematic & design development drawings • Checking design proposals against authority requirements • Preparation of budgets, estimates, cost plans and feasibility studies • Training for local community

3. Construction Documents: • Preparation of working drawings and specifications • Monitoring the documentation process against time and cost plans • Checking of documents for compliance with statutory requirements • Co-ordination of subcontractors documentation • Co-ordination of contract drawings and specifications •  

4. Contract Administration: • Preparing, receiving and adjudication of documentation of bids or tenders and the procedures connected therewith • Site meetings • Inspection of works • Issuing instructions to the builders • Client reports • Resolution of Disputes

Stage 4: technical documentation and municipality approval,

Stage 5: contract administration and inspection
