Project: Conceptual design and funding presentation for a 1500 key eco-resort in the Eastern Cape of South Africa

 

Position: Project Architect.

 

Responsibility:

1. Project and Office Management: · Meeting with clients · Discussions with clients of the brief and the preliminary drawings · Formulation of client requirements · Pre-contract project management · Drafting of correspondence · Co-ordination of the work of consultants · Office and project accounting systems · Master site planning of future buildings.

2. Design and Design Documentation: · Site investigation and evaluation · Assessment of the implications of relevant regulations · Preparation of schematic and design development drawings · Preparation of budgets, estimates, cost plans, and feasibility studies

 

The scope of work:

Stage 1: appraisal and definition of the project,

Stage 2: design concept,

Stage 3: design development,

Stage 4: technical documentation and municipality approval,

Stage 5: contract administration and inspection

The scope of service was broad extending beyond usual practices and involved helping with an environmental impact assessment and compiling funding presentations.
